Oh great HK gurus I need help so I don't order the wrong thing.
I have a KG (1996) date code HK USP 40S&W Compact with a bobbed hammer and I want to have a regular hammer that I can cock manually on my first shot.
I have had this gun since it was new, however I just don't shoot it much, and really would like a regular hammer and not the bobbed one that came stock.
I'm confused about which hammer i need. I see one hammer is post 1995 and something about a 2005 catch. What part number do I need?
Also any special tools needed to do it?
Can you suggest a YouTube video or instruction sheet on the net to help me change it?

You need this one. This is the old-style hammer without the notch on the right side (to accommodate the longer catch that was introduced in 2005).

All you need is a standard 3/32 punch. You don't even need a roll-pin punch for this.

Go to YouTube and search for the USP Disassembly video or look in the Reference Library. If I find the YouTube vid, I'll post it here for you.

ETA: Here you go. USPC is the same way.
