I had a trigger/accuracy job done on my gun... after receiving it, I had to send it back because the hammer would not stay cocked after firing a shot or chambering a round. It would fail to stay cocked enough that I pretty much quit using the pistol. After receiving it back the second time and the problem still being there, I gave up on the gunsmith.

It was for comp, not CCW by the way.

I am looking for some help with identifying the parts that may be causing the problem, finding a price/supplier for said parts and info on installing them.

I appreciate any and all help in this.

Not knowing what the "gunsmith" did to the gun, at this point the only viable course of action would be to send it back to HK for evaluation and parts replacement. This is one of the main reasons I do not advocate trigger work outside of Gray Guns.

I agree with GT. HK is the only logical choice, so you don't start a wild parts goose chase. Who was the smith?

I think most of us at sometime have had similar problems after someone does work on are guns. As for a recommendation, I would point you towards Gray Guns as others have done. You might post the shop that did the work so other don't find themselves in the same position.

I thought about posting on the forum the name but would rather respond to PM's.

I have contemplated sending it back to HK but I guess I was hoping for a quicker/cheaper route from somebody with a working knowledge of the gun and it's trigger mechanics.

I'm being cheap...tryin to save for the HK45ct.

It's not about the known, it's about the unknown that keeps me from recommending anything but a return to the mothership. At least you'd be guaranteed a fix. I wouldn't pay for the return, either. I'd have the "gun hack" pay for it, since he screwed it up.

I'd pay for the fix and get it done once and for all. It may be cheaper than trial and error with parts.

Frankly, you should be telling people who it is. You have a duty to inform your HKPRO brethren and fellow gun owners so they don't get ass raped, too. You weren't put on this planet to protect the reputation of shoddy gun-smithing and bad business ethics.

As someone who is contemplating a trigger job I would love to know who did the work. Potentially saving me from a hassle as well as others who are interested would be greatly appreciated.

It is funny, that a post always comes in inquiring about said "gunsmith"...and someone always says..."I have never heard anything negative about his work.." When I have read at least 4 posts on HK describing similar issues.

I don't mind telling people, they are just gonna have to take the extra step to PM me. Everybody and any company is bound to make mistakes. I don't believe I need to post a name for everybody to see for all eternity. I will respond to a PM, with the understanding that, that is where it stop. No public posting. That's how I will get the word out...with a clear conscience.

Bottom line is that I had just heard so many good things and took the chance. I knew going in there was a chance it could turn out this way. Oh, well. All in all, a cheap learning experience. I would never, ever...ever recommend a trigger job on my/any CCW weapon.

The smith has contacted me to work something out. I will attempt this before I send my pistol on a trip to HK.
