***Update***

I received a new decocker from the 'Smith. I figured out how to install it...I think...and it seems to run fine through racking the slide. I will try live fire this weekend and see how it holds up.

I didn't notice any difference between the old and new parts but I was in a hurry to get my baby fixed and didn't look real hard.
Good luck hope it works out for you!

check the flat spring(seen thru mag well), my bet it is not installed correctly and may also have worked its way out of place after a few 100rds. This has happened to "some" recent brand new P30s, the gun will go in to DA only after a certain # of rounds.

The techs at HK who examined my P30 mentioned in an earlier post said in their opinions, the sear had been rounded too much to be safe. That's when I decided to pay to have it put back to factory specs. Could this have been your problem as well? Maybe the same smith did the work on our pistols??

I ran 105 rounds through the pistol yesterday and it ran flawlessly. Great start but I'll put another 900 rounds through it before I take it to a comp again.

Bentonville, thanks for the PM...

I think I'm just going to rely on experience and round count for a trigger job.

What I am finding as rather surprising is the number of negative 'Smith work being done on guns of members here on the Forum.

Kinda makes ya wonder...

All that negative work is from one gunsmith, from what I can tell.

Not surprising....people want to save a buck and make themselves believe they're getting good work done when there's plenty of evidence saying otherwise.

I live up 95 about 100 miles or so from you. Sorry about your trigger problems. A respected forum member here told me that in his opinion, the P30 was like the new girl on the cheer leading squad that everybody thought was so beautiful they all wanted to date her. When they got to know her, they realized they didn't really like her and wanted to change her. (I think I got his analogy right) That's the P30 trigger.

GT, I'm gonna write that 100 times so I don't forget...

TGS, FWIW there is not that much negative feedback on the Forums.

I think it is human nature to want to make something "yours" if not better. Otherwise there would no aftermarket parts or mods for anythings...cars, guns, atv's etc etc.

There is on this one if you use the right keywords, but you might need to know the problems to begin with in order to know the keywords to find him.

It also might be that way because HKPRO members come on here asking for help because their P30 they sent now has hammer follow, but don't want to give out the gunsmiths name unless someone PM's him. So, "BobbyNewMember" comes on the board and tries searching for a specific gunsmith but doesn't get enough information to say it's a bad decision, because some members are opposed to...how was it...putting their names out there for the rest of eternity to see....or something like that. So unless they scour the board for a period of time and put pieces together, they end up sending their gun to some B.S. gunsmith, and then their gun gets ****** up, and they wonder why nobody told them there is a recurring problem with said B.S. gunsmith...

I align myself with HKPRO members and would like to warn members who weren't privy to this thread and didn't have the chance to PM you, not the recurring shoddy work of a gunsmith whom also has a recurring habit of not fixing it. Call me an *******, but I don't get protecting his reputation.

Funny how that works. If you don't report it, there's no negative reports. Hmm.

Repeat after me, either it is factory or Gray Guns, nothing in between.
gt is spot on here!!

TGS, i also agree with. Why, with so many new shooter's who are developing their skill's hopefully safety a First Major Priority. Get's a trigger job and has problem's not knowing just how dangerous hammer follow is!! Among many other problem's on other HK's the least wasting money and by "not" sending the screwed up gun back to HK to make sure it's back 100% since so much time, frustration and cash wasted. Like a safety re-call done without knowing the make and model of auto.!!!

Some say it's not morally right or feel it's just not the right thing to do to name a person. If i got my gun back from anyone who worked on my gun and it was all botched and unsafe. I Would put a name with a botched gun in a heart beat!! Since it could save a life, money and a boat load of frustration to other's. It's a Business and if the Business make's dud's some that could harm or kill it's a responsibility to let other's know imo. I'm not as well versed in writing as TGS but certainly agree and see his very valid point.
