Finally we have a winner in the German Army rifle debacle. The HK416 A8 is now officially the winner of the trial after the last appeals court threw out Haenel/Caracal's complaint against the German Army and sided with HK on the patent dispute. Google Translate is your friend:

We'll both will be dead by the time we see an A3 version here in the states. Particularly now that all the boyz in the bmor hood are going to be able get concealed carry permits. Won't matter if I can get one now, they'll out gun me.

Haenel was never going to win the court case, but ironically, I do think they had a solid argument pointing out that they at least had magpul's permission to use the magazine unlike H&K. Still, doomed from the start.
