New Guy with questions regarding PTR 32

Hey all, I just joined from Arizona. I've used the forum for knowledge a lot in the past regarding my P30SK, but decided to make an account after deciding I'd like to get a PTR 32. I have a 30 cal can and would like to suppress a x39 rifle, and the PTR is the most attractive to me.

My question is regarding the 12.5" variant of the 32, the 32K PDWR. Are there any firsthand owners that can comment on the ability of this gun to run suppressed, or any other comments regarding the 12.5" 32? It also appears these are no longer made by PTR, which is unfortunate because it seems like the most practical to me. Does anyone know of a way to find one or am I stuck wishing? Seems they were discontinued recently because Atlantic has them listed, just OOS.

I have one, might have the supressor comp somewhere, but have not shot it suppressed yet. I ended up F1'ing mine, as it's one of my favorite sear hosts. I went through the stupid long PTR "break-in" and it's been accurate. The "k" length barrel is perfect fit in my fleet, and fits right in with other German hosts.

Before you sbr, make sure it runs as you require. Mine needed reworking (Jeff @ PCS) to get it to run with a sear; semi-auto was fine.

As for locking pieces, PTR only makes two (last I checked) a 65° and a 70°. Search the forum for what LP has been used for suppressed, it in the forum.

I can't help you on finding one. Bought mine several years ago. Maybe post a WTB on several forums. Mine turned out totally worth the rework and extra money 😁

Atlantic says more are on the way, sign up for in stock notification. Not sure if @gopherboy128 got his running suppressed or not(*w/subs), but the info might be a good starting place.
apex has the ptr 32 lp’s. Added the 32 full size info for anyone interested. Hope this helps

I have a 12.5" 32K. Probably my favorite gun. An OSS suppressor pretty much lives on the end of it. A different locking piece isn't needed w/ those. I tried one of my SDN6s once (before I got the OSS) for just a few rounds and it REALLY increases recoil. For sure would dent the receiver from the rollers if you did that much.

Sandman2's post has the data you need to get rolling if using a typical suppressor. The issue is if you need some locking piece that doesn't really exist. There are only so many available. FWIW, It going to be easier to turn down a 12.5" 32K than a 16" 32 as it will already have less gas/pressure.

They have been out of stock for MONTHS everywhere. Atlantic just got them back so they are still in production. If you want one of the K's buy it soon.

Thanks all for the guidance. I really want to find one of these 12" guns. I found one on Armslist but unfortunately its not local to me. Does reaching out to PTR usually lead to anything? ETA: Would it be better to reach out to Atlantic?

As for questions regarding the platform, do baffle cans usually perform as well on these roller delayed guns as flow-through suppressors? I have an Omega 300 ill be running it with.

How is the aftermarket support for these? From what i can find it seems the 12" uses the handguard from the 33 & much of the rest of the parts are of the 91? Does this introduce problems?

Final question just for the giggle factor, has anyone ever put a binary trigger in one of these 32's? I had a Fostech Echo once upon a time in an AR and it was a blast to shoot. Would love a third position on one of these HK's but the cost of a sear is downright laughable.

Thanks! Now off to post a WTB in the marketplace..

WIth any HK, If you use a baffle based suppressor you'll probably want to try the next step lower angle locking piece when shooting suppressed. IIRC, the stock 32K locking piece is 70 deg (but don't quote me on that) so a 65 or 60deg should do it.

Should be a blast w/ a binary trigger. They are very soft shooting.
