Ok, so forgive my newness, but here's my problem. My new 9mm HK p2000 V3 does not consistently lock the slide back on an empty mag. I've ran into the problem on both factory supplied magazines, and can't consistently duplicate the issue. I've gone through 300rds of Remington "Range Bucket" ammo, and have had no other problems. Mags seem to seat just fine, and I can't figure out what could be causing it. Any suggestions?

your thumb is riding the slide release
happens all the time to me when i let new HK shooters use my HKs
even happens some now that i switched to shorter slide release

try shooting strong hand only and see if it locks back every time

can also be recoil spring is tight, but this happens more on P30 and especially P30L
you can leave the slide locked back for a few days or switch to hotter ammo for a bit

I agree with macsak, adjust your grip and you should be fine.

Had same trouble way back. Started using hotter ammo and eliminated the problem.

I was going to suggest trying different ammo as well. Welcome to the forum.

Welcome to the forum. When I first started HKing I had the same problem, I was using the thumbs forward grip and it would cause my thumb to block the slide lock. Had to modify the way I held it and it started working just fine.
