Greetings,

I have been doing much research and today I made the move on a USP 40 Tactical. It is 2-3 years old but never released from HK until a few months ago. This one was aquired from a reputable local gunshop, new as far as never been registered or fired. It came with factory night sights, no safety, three 16 round translucent clips (not marked LEM) and the jet funnel. It also has some trigger work, first pull is heavy but all shots after that are around 4 lbs.

Pics will follow once I get my hands on it (do know we all love pics). I paid $960 for it and feel I got a nice deal on it.

It has Tactical rolled right on it. Yes I was also taken a bit back by it after doing some research...It seems unique and does come with all the paper work, all the mods came from the factory. The gun shop owner is the forst to have it and believes it was originally meant for border patrol but never got released (apparently they came out with these features as well?).

Thanks

congrats on the new gun.
IIRC, border patrol uses HK P2000 or P200SK in 40 (cant remember which), dont believe they use the tactical at all.
i have one too..that almost sounds like a custom order if its all factory, as mine is a lot different--has adj. target sights, V1 manual safety, regular black magazines, and no jet funnel. what kind of trigger work does it have? mine has about 4.5 lb SA trigger pull too.

Thanks guys!
I will get some pics out next week once I get to pick it up. In the end I guess I'm just not sure why it was ordered this way from HK. I do know it has never been registered and have not seen one optioned this way form the limited searches I've done. Once I pick it up I will try to get more details with the pics. If there are any specific questions I should ask please let me know and I will do so. I am a bit new to all this and diving in with limited knowledge, not the way I normally go at it but in this case I just had to get my hands on it...

Are you sure it's a Tactical and not a Combat Competition?
Anyway, congrats!
Sounds like match trigger to me. Interesting ... match trigger without safety / decocker, what variant is that?

AFAIK only LE models come w/ 3 mags. Can't wait too see the pics.

BTW could you pls post a pic of the label w/ model # like 'M704001T-A5' etc? I may want one if available.

Thank you and right back at you! I'm just now starting to understand how good these guns seem to be and have yet to fire one. Sure seems like they are the 911 of guns...

Not too sure sorry to say. I'm new to the HK world and only have owned a beretta 9000s and my go to bad boy, mossberg 590 mariner, parkerized with heatshield. I've had it for about 15 years and still is all of that.

AFAIK?? Will do and still not understanding all the facts/details about this gun...pics will post as soon as I pick it up (should be next Monday or Tuesday).

Got it today :)

It is not a LEM but has all the LEM options. It is about 3 or so years old and was released approx 3 months ago from the distributer to the dealer I got it from. It was released with a batch of reconditioned border patrol guns but this one was only a few of the "new ones" that were not border patrol or an actual LE gun. He jumped on this one and I did much the same once I saw it. I am the first owner and not sure why it was optioned this way (and neither did the gun dealer) and not designated LEM, seems interesting and could not walk away from it...

For some reason I can't pst pics thou :( maybe cuz I'm a newbee, not sure
