Hi All,
I just purchased my first H&K handguns. A pair of P30 L's in 9mm. The question I have is , does anybody use the compression spring? part #47 on the p30 schematic. Neither of my P30's came with it and from what I've come to find out H&K does not supply them with currently produced guns? They aren't expensive but is there ay benefit to using them?

Thanks!

Welcome
I don't know the answer, someone will surely come along and let us know

But how the heck did you figure out they weren't in there?

Just saying first H&K and you have pulled the schematics and figured out that the guns don't have them and they don't supply them now?
Just honestly curious

I can check mine, its like my 15th hk and I don't even know what part to look for....lol
Welcome to the site, and congratulations on your first, HK sidearms!!!

Tony
I'll look at my P30LS tonight, but I don't recall seeing any such spring. Wouldn't be the first time a schematic was wrong or out of date.

I was looking on H&K parts website to see what spare parts I should pick up and I noticed the # 47 compression spring. I didn't remember seeing that spring when I initially field stripped my guns. I dissembled them and it wasn't there? I immediately checked the floor around my work bench thinking I made a rookie mistake a lost them. After some google searching I came to the conclusion that H&K doesn't use them any more? There is a nice round indent in the frame that looks like the spring would fit right into?

Thanks

The perfect reason for not counting on third party websites to give you accurate Home - Heckler & Koch information. Always go to the factory, your manual, HK armorer's book, an HK Armorer or one of the many knowledgeable members here.
As far as spare parts. Personally I never worry on those. Your warranty protects you and HKs take a whole lot to start wearing out the parts. But, if you are shooting 500+ rounds per week, a couple of springs from HK CS is reasonable, but really not needed. Ask Crashmc. He links to burn rounds downrange and clock the rounds in the Ks. I never have heard of him having to yet replace even a small spring. 100,000 or 200,000+ rounds are what HKs are known for.

Congrats on your new and first HKs and welcome to the site.
Make the search feature here your friend as there is so much great information relating to questions you may have.
Enjoy those fine P30 longs!
Make room for more HKs to come home with you soon.
Just checked my owners manual and on the P30 schematic it shows # 47 Compression spring for recoil spring guide rod. ID# 234-774. It is a legit H&K part. And again there is defiantly a place for it in the frame.

Thanks
Channeling your inner John Wick?
You discovered my inspiration! Actually Ive passed on the H&K case at my LGS for years. I finally had the sales rep pull out a P30 and I was hooked! I have a feeling I'm in for many More $$$$$

That's how it's starts! The wild ride never ends!
I have a P30 in 9mm and a P30L in 40 S&W and neither one of them came with this spring and both have shot flawlessly through around 1000 rounds each. I am not sure I see the purpose of it.

But if HK doesn't include it with a factory P30/P30L, I am sure there is a reason for it.
Congrats and welcome!! Now I'm curious about the spring as well!
That assembly drawing is the wrong revision level ( an old one ) . It also shows this part ,which is a plastic sleeve .https://www.hkparts.net/shop/pc/viewprd.asp?idproduct=1765&idcategory=205

They changed that part on the P30L's and added Aluminum to the plastic piece for more stability due to being longer probably. They tightened up the fit between slide release axle and the guide rod https://www.hkparts.net/shop/pc/viewprd.asp?idproduct=2247&idcategory=205 so when it's in battery , it's good to go !

It does show that spring for the P30 , which I do NOT own one of.

I am confused. I don't have that part number or name in my manual, and item 47 in the schematic is the safety lever.
