I'll be taking this to the range tomorrow after I install a grind-to-fit recoil pad. Length of pull is a little short and I don't want to learn to flinch shooting this thing. Condition is amazing. It's hard to believe that only a few weeks ago, I was completely unaware that these guns existed. Now I'm the proud owner of a gorgeous 300 and now, 770. This forum is proving to be very, very expensive.

this is a presentation model you can tel from the colored lettering, and damn if it ain't in beautiful condition. CONGRATS!!!

i have one that i know has been shot a few times, but not many. I can't bring myself to shoot mine myself. Luckily, i have a beater version a well, so i can shoot that...

make sure your buffer is in good condition. If not google CritR-Call in CO. If you can't reach them PM me a pic of your buffer, if its the same type as mine I'll send you one.

what is the date code? Don't see it in the pics.

I'll open her up tomorrow and inspect the buffer. This thing looks like it hasn't even been fired. All the bluing is intact where it should have worn off from the moving action. Hoping the buffers don't degrade too much over time. I think this thing has spent its life in a safe.

Very nice, you'll be very happy with its accuracy. I have a H&K 300, 630 and 770. All are very accurate. My 770 stock was a little rough, but no big deal; I just made my own thumbhole stock for it. Also a thumbhole stock for my 630.

T.M.Wilson, tell us the story of how you located that beautiful 770? The wood on it is very nice. For collectors the hunt if half the fun, do share.

And I would emplore you not to "fix" that butt plate, find a slip on extender if you cant shoot as is.

No interesting story involved in acquiring this 770. Just checked Guns International website nightly for new listings. When this popped up I didn't blink, I just bought it. As for the recoil pad, I put one on using the same screw holes used for the factory butt plate. The original plate is in the safe. I'm going boar hunting in a few weeks and will take the 770 and my Benelli R1 (30-06). I think my friend and I will flip a coin as to who shoots what.
