Finally picked up a pistol I've been coveting a while, an HK4 with each of the caliber conversions. I've had a .22 and a .380 for a while but the .32 and .25 has eluded me. Interestingly this one doesn't appear to be import marked at all. My .380 is a Saco import, and my .22 is a Chantilly VA HK import.

Wow! you have quite the collection there. I'm green with envy. Where do you get buffers?

My understanding is this guy started on this forum. Heard only good things about his buffers.

With the hen's tooth .22lr extractor!!!! What a score.
Is it? Thought those were all listed .22lr on them?

The .22lr extractor is hard to find. They make extraction reliable for 22 but not every gun with that conversion has the 22 extractor. I stumbled across one mounted on a spare slide. I bought the slide for the extractor. And now have a dedicated rim fire slide so no fiddling with the firing pin.

On second examination I see the extractor doesn’t have .22lr stamped on it so I was wrong. Sorry.

No worries, you had me exited that I'd somehow overlooked it for a second. Would love to get a .22lr extractor, but they never turn up. How reliable have yours been shooting .22 with the universal extractor?

The .22 l.r. extractor has different dimensions than the standard centerfire extractors but not all are marked .22 l.r. The rimfire extractor claw is noticeably longer. I got marked and unmarked .22 l.r. extractors and they are dimensionally different from the centerfire extractors. You can see the .22 l.r. marked extractor on the left below the gun.

When the .22 l.r. HK4 works, it is a charm!!!

How's the pull on an HK4? I've lusted after these since, well, they were affordable :). Still kicking my butt for not buying a PSP for 600 and a P7M8 NIB in 2007 for 1200!!
