So I just bought a Mark 23 a couple months back and then fast forward to about a month ago when I spotted another one at a local gun show. Was holding it and admiring it thinking about mine at home, and went to set it down, but noticed that it was a new never fired KH with the maritime finish. The seller who was an FFL said he had it locked away for the longest time and never sold it. He told me he even had a camo case that came with it. Well I remember reading that the earlier ones are actually quite desirable and that the cases alone can go for over $300, so I said "let's wrap it up", and now I own 2 Mark 23's! Just shot it today and it was perfect. Super smooth and soft shooter and perfectly reliable. Of course it puts the rounds where you want them as well Anyway, just thought I'd share. Really a fan of the Mark 23, and HK's more and more.

Good catch, a huge mark 23 fan when you contemplate even buying a second one (something I have thought about as well). I have a later BD date but I love the maritime finish

+1 on the maritime finish! Looks great! I'm not a Mk. 23 owner, but if I do ever get one, I think I'd hold out for the older, glossier finish myself, much like you've picked up.
