Good afternoon everyone, as the title says I am completely new to HK's. I have to admit I have been out of the handgun world for a few and decided it was time for me to pick another one up. I have searched site after site after site to see what was new in the handgun world and I liked what I saw in the HK line up. The thing that got me the most was all the trigger variants that HK has in their line up, staggering at best for a new guy. So....I took some time and read I don't know how many posts here in the forum to try to get a feel of what HK was all about and educate myself best as possible (a lot of great info here). That was step one for me and I was ready for step two, go handle as many as I possibly could and get a feel for them. I must admit they fit my hand much better than I expected and you could just feel they were quality built guns. The counter guy asked what it was mainly going to be used for so and I obliged by telling him my intended use for it. As we walked down another case for him to show me what we had in mind another gentleman was there and kinda did a awwwmann mumble when he went to take the gun out of the case. I'm not into sub compacts but he said I really needed to try it and see how it felt in my hand, to my surprise it felt like a glove and I was sold on it. I was ready to open the wallet grab the money out and buy it on the spot and give it a try. The other guy asked if it was my first HK and I said yes with a hint of excitement in my voice, he proceeded to ask if he could make a suggestion on one other HK and I said sure. The gentleman then proceeded to point to the exact same gun that I had looked at (now i'm confused) a couple minutes earlier. I kindly asked what was the difference and he said quite a bit and asked the salesman to see it. As the salesman pulled it out of the case he says "I didn't even know we got that one in". The gentleman, (Bob) says, "if you are going to get the P30sk this is the one you want". Well being new to HK I was still missing what he was talking about, I felt bad, I didn't want to ask why and he knew it. He chuckled a little and told me he had been looking for this particular P30sk for awhile as they were a little harder to find. As I look at it, it dawns on me.......it was the P30sk LEM. I said thank you but you have been looking for that particular model and I missed seeing it in the case. Once again Bob chuckled and said "really.....if this is your first HK this is the one I would strongly suggest". I thanked him a few times (feeling bad at the same time) and asked if he was sure and he said yes. Talk about an awesome person, passing on a gun he had been looking for to help a new guy out. And this is how I joined the HK family........ Firearm Gun Trigger Gun accessory Starting pistol

Welcome to a great forum. I took a helluva long initiation, hazing before I was accepted, and I'm not even sure I have been accepted ....yet.

Anyway, enjoy, I have learned a lot in here, there are some very sharp people in here. Read a lot as I have. There is thousands of pages of things I didn't know, but keep reading to broaden my HK knowledge. Enjoy and welcome! \,,/

Nice choice man. I bought the same gun a few weeks ago and love it. This past weekend was my first time carrying it. Welcome to the forum and the happy horde of HK owners.
