Well I wanted a different gun and a 9mm, I'm used to Glocks and 1911s, and when I saw some reviews I had to get a VP9. I bought a used one for what I believe was a great deal. Well the trigger is awesome on this gun and so are the ergonomics. Well I watch the infamous MAC video of the VP9 and I will admit the sand malfunctions did concern me. I went to the range today and loaded it with 5rds of crap aluminum federal ammo, I covered my VP9 fully in sand, and then fired it one handed, i did this 3 times. It performed flawlessly, even with crap ammo. I didn't know if anyone would care, but i thought I'd share. I'll post videos if anyone wants to see.

I bought a VP9 L.E.,gray a week ago and have one range trip with it. Function is perfect and the ergonomics are terrific for me. HK is known for quality and I did watch the video before I bought. I do not believe HK would market a sub- standard product like the video showed. I will never be in combat again, except urban warfare(riots) and my VP9 will do anything I want/need.I do take alot of these videos "with a grain of salt" as the old saying goes.

Man, good to know! I have been worried about my VP9's reliability!!! Almost 3 years of hardcore competition use, practice sessions, and general abuse yet not one malfunction or problem ever.....even in sandy environments!!!! Although a biased board here, I see these torture tests as a waste of time compared to the millions of $$ invested in the torture testing before the VP9 was even released! Enjoy your gun!

Reliability.....one of my VP9s hit 12K rounds last weekend, same original red RSA spring, my other is just a tad over 10K, no failures other than all of 5 due to some crappy ammo (FTRB).

I'm also not going to Middle East, so won't worry too much about torture testing...besides I have several as backups.

Great guns, you'll come to learn over time.
