I have been looking and reading and researching everything I can find that makes sense on the HK line. I'm looking hard for a P30 and thought I had it narrowed down to the P30 S, manual decocker and safety but now am starting to lean towards the LEM trigger setup. The quality and reputation of HK is great but I'm also curious as the the overall justification of the cost differential for HK over other
choices. Is this really justified? Glock, XDm, FNX all seem to be significantly lower in price of relatively comparative pistols and I'm curious to the overall reason. I"m still looking hard at the P30 and love the way it fits my hand but am understandably curious. Appreciate any guidance you can offer on the LEM variant and the cost differential.

Thanks!! :300000000:

Welcome to HKpro! Great questions.

I can't give you any information on the LEM trigger bc I don't have one and haven't shot one. A good number of members on this forum swear by it. I personally like the safety/decocker and DA/SA. My USP Expert came with the Match trigger setup and I think it is smoother and crisper than the standard DA/SA, so I have no reason to try anything new at the moment.

The price of an HK, I think in the scheme of things, is negligible. It's a 200-400 difference (for most models) compared to the guns you have listed. If that P30 feels amazing in your hand like you said, and functions the way you want it to function, then I think you should get it. You can't put a price on that. I picked HK because I like extremely high quality, high functioning, and highly reliable products. I can rest assured that I have the best of the best in this particular realm of handgun. You don't need to do any aftermarket work to your HK if you don't want to. You don't have to stress about it. It will function, and as many have said on this forum, will outshoot the shooter.

I have nothing against these other guns you listed; and I own a Glock that I hardly ever shoot. It's a fine gun. I have no complaints other than it's just not quite as good of a fit as my HK is for me. You've held the P30... so my question for you is: did it feel right for you? Is there something you didn't like about the P30?

My HK is one of the few guns I've purchased that is perfect as it is. I have absolutely no desire to change anything on it. I love it. And I hope you pick the right gun for you, even if it's not an HK. But if you do get the P30 we need a range report and pics ASAP!

Good luck on your decision and there are plenty of people more wise than I on this forum to help you out. Stick around!

Welcome to the site from a fellow Alabamian!!!
Go with the HK--- well worth the additional funds in the long run.

Made the plunge today. P30 LEM. Ran 200 rounds PMC straight out of the box and not a hitch. Need to get night sights added but otherwise, well pleased.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!:100000::100000::100000::100000:

EXCELLENT CHOICE! 200 rounds straight of the box w/ no probs=why you bought the HK.

Post some pics for us!
Congrats, and welcome to the site! Btw, if you are in the bham area, we are trying to get a meet going at Hoover Tac if you are interested.

I'm in Hoover and made my purchase at Hoover Tac. Appreciate the invite.
Just check out the Alabama HK meet thread in the HK by state section. Should be sometime this month.
If you came here looking for someone to convince you to think with your wallet, you came to the wrong place. Like WillTheWolf said, I too have a Glock that rarely sees the light of day, and not because it isn't a nice gun or that it isn't reliable, it just isn't as nice to hold and shoot as my P30L. Now I just have to decide if I want to build an AR or get an HK45. I can almost assure you the HK45 will win out.

After having made the purchase, P30 LEM, I agree. The feel and handling is super. I have an XDMc 45 and a Steyr M40 that may get relegated to dust collector. The XDM may get traded for the HK45c. Now I've just got to get used to the sight picture to zero in on target and perhaps have night sights added. Pleased overall.
CONGRATS ON THE P30! Now you can see and feel first hand why we like HK so much.
Congrats on owning that fine handgun! It won't be your only HK or P30 for that matter.
