Newbie wants to thank Ghilliebear

I've been a lurker here for almost two years and have learned a lot about HK9x-series clones. I bought a used Vector V93 and have been extremely happy with it after about 500 rounds. It had a gap of .011 when I bought it and it still has a gap of .011. I did have to ditch that A3 stock (after 120 rounds of .223 I learned why the Germans call them "meat grinders") for an A2 MP5 stock.

I recently bought a NIB Century C93. the gun store allowed me to strip the rifle and check the internals and to check the gap. The gap was .016. I fired 120 rounds of Federal XM193 through it and the gap was still .016. I cleaned it and it was still .016. This past week I fired another 150 rounds of XM193 in it and checked the gap at the range, still .016. I bring it home and clean it and the gap INCREASES to .020! I called Ghillie yesterday to ask him what's up and he took the time to explain the possibilities with me and to walk me through how to check for them. We discovered that the locking lever on the bolt carrier had not completely engaged. I put the bolt back together and the gap is .017. He told me how to check if the barrel or trunnion is moving, which I did today and it doesn't seem to be.

I just want to publicly say thank you to Jeff for taking the time to help me with the rifle. If I ever need any work at all on the C93 or V93, I WILL be sending it to him.

One of the genuinely nicest guys in the business. Can't go wrong with Jeff.
Just talked to Jeff the other day on the phone about what parts to accumulate for my 93 build.. he took plenty of time to set me right and clear up my confusion
Yeah, he was more polite and professional that a couple of local gunsmiths and gun dealers here. If I can ever get the money (yeah, right...lousy taxes :41: ) I'd like to get him to build me an HK33SG1-clone and/or an MSG90-clone (because I LOVE the MSG90).
A lot of people in the business get frustrated real easy with sophomoric questions...Jeff has helped me on the phone a few times before I sent him work. In a world of people who have forgotten what customer service is, Jeff accelerates. A lot of small businesses could take lessons from him.
Thank you Guy's I enjoy talking with you all call anytime..

I had a lot of newbie questions and Jeff answered them all and set me on the path to HK roller locked goodness
Same here! Jeff recently did an awesome job on my aftermarket MKE ATI SP89... it now runs like a champ!! His receptiveness to communication, professionalism, patience and SUPERB final product definitely are the standards by which others are to be judged!

Best Regards from Virginia,

Chris

HELL YEAH! I wasted many hours of my childhood watching GI Joe and reading the GI Joe comics. Of course, I always wanted to join Cobra...hehehe. Cobra Commander is THE MAN! Not the wiener Cobra Commander from the cartoon, I mean the badass Cobra Commander from the comics.

My GI Joe collection now is actually a lot larger than the one i had as a kid. See, when you're 10 and buy toys, you're a kid. when you're 33 and buy toys, you're a "collector."

And if I ever have an evil army, they will be armed with HKs and Walthers :62:
outstanding!!

And now for a major WTF moment...I just had an emergency situation pop up that required a quick infusion of cash. That required me to sell something. The only things of value I own are my firearms (my guns are worth more than my car LOL). The choices were to sell my Walther P99AS (not just no, but HELL NO!), the V93 (that would require a very dire emergency, which this was not), or the C93. So guess which one went on the chopping block to be sold. :41: :41: But I still have the V93 which has been flawless, so not all is lost, I guess.
