In that picture it appears to co-witness the irons. It sure looks like an aimpoint, but I've never seen an ultra low mount like that for them like that.
I have an extra low mount I purchased from Larue to run on my POF upper (has a higher rail than most ar uppers). I can look it up when I get home.

Could be a Warne or Talley 30mm mount. Definitely an Aimpoint optic.

that is in fact an aimpoint. but a clone will also work. the ring is an Aimpoint #122243, seen here:

Aimpoint SR 30 MM X-Wide Rings FREE S&H 12243, 12244. AimPoint Red Dot Sight Accessories.

it will give a co-witness but its below a typical 1/3 lower co-witness with an HK rail (UMP/USC irons are really low as well),I hear HDPS top rails are a little lower though, so It may give a better view. if I was to mount mine up like this, the most comfortable view is with the red dot floating at the top of the hood of the front sight.

I use this same ring on my mp5 clones with the aimpoint/B&T 10266 low mount, for a perfect co-witness

here is mine with a primary arms red dot quick mounted (only 2 screws)

quick and dirty view of the 'co-witness' (again, quick mount, not sighted), the front sight post is actually more visible than this, but this is the best I could do for you guys with the Iphone.

the view thats probably easiest to use.

this quick mock up may have just made HDPS a sale on rails, damm.
