P2000sk Hammer Spring and a Lighter DA Trigger

5079 Views 7 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  e0603
Muddling through the my search results I found that the LEM and the DA/SA variants of the P2000sk use the same hammer spring which I think is either 12 or 14 lbs..,(not certain).

To lighten the DA pull on my V3 trigger does anyone know if using to a USP Match hammer spring (shortened to sk length) will drop it a few pounds. If that isn't the correct method I'm looking for ideas.

Many Thanks-S1

I used the 10# usp spring from Wolf in mine. Works great so far after 1500 rounds. It feels just like my P30L with 11k rounds and the same cut to length hammer spring.
Did you cut the Wolf spring to the same length as the original P2000sk spring?

In general, are Wolf Springs as good as HK original springs ?
Yes and Yes
Hey guys...I am totally new to this....just got my first pistol, a P2000SK V1 (DA/SA) and am looking to see if it is possible to lighten the trigger pull. Will the modification listed above affect both the DA & SA pulls or just the DA?

Is this something a HK dealer/gunsmith will do? What does this do the HK warranty?

Thanks

The below link will answer most of your questions. I can't think of a scenario where warranty would be an issue but the OEM spring can be put back in in 30 seconds if need be.

The P2000sk/P2000 and USP Compacts use the same hammer springs as the HK USP full size. For the P2000sk cut a couple of coils off to match the exact length of the factory spring that came with the gun. Search the forum, you'll find this is a tried and true practice with good results. I tried the 10 and 12# hmr springs and decided on the 10 for my P2000sk and USP Compacts.

p/n 30910 1 H&K USP 9mm .40 & .45 RP HMR SPRING 10LB Pak of 3 8.99 8.99
p/n 30912 1 H&K USP 9mm .40 & .45 RP HMR SPRING 12LB Pak of 3 8.99 8.99
+1 on the 10# hammer spring!

Edit: All my USPs [4 of them] have the 10# Wolff hammer spring, and it works real good. I cut it down to the factory size original in my P2000sk, and it also works like a charm.
Glad this thread got bumped, I've used 10 and 12lb Wolff springs on my USPc in the past and wished they were an option for my SK. Will definitely give it a try on my training/competition gun.
