Ok I have one P30 9mm and another one on the way to me for my second one. I have looking around the site and could have sworn I read a post about changing the P30 with the DA/SA trigger set up over to the LEM trigger. I have also been looking to see which kit I would need to be able to do this as I remeber seeing in the thread I read that it could be done but the place where the decocker sits on the rear of the frame would have a little open slot.

Who here has done this conversion and how long or hard was it do it? I can build AR15's and trip down SIG's for the most part and work on them. Is the H&K a little bit harder to do? Also does anyone know if there are any H&K armors around KY? If I had to I would get the parts kit's for the conversions and then just take the guns over the the armor and have them do it for me.

I've done it. It's no harder than any other LEM conversion. From your experience I don't think you'll have a problem. This is where I tell you that the P-series is unique in the fact that, due to the frame differences, HK doesn't support or condone variant changes as they do with the other models. If you could find an armorer (which is easier said than done) they might not do it for you for the above reason.

I have not done one of these as my P30's were bought as LEM.

here is what you need

HK P30 LEM Trigger Kit, RTG Gun Parts

Ok thanks I knew I had seen that kit while looking around here, just could not remember where.I forgot to ask which LEM trigger would this kit give me? The light LEM or the regular LEM trigger set up?

Thanks I am just a little worried about doing anything with the H&K, again working and building AR15's and working on SIG's and Glocks is a litte easier. I have never worked on an H&K and would be scared I would mess something up and not be able to fix it on my end.. I called H&K USA and asked about me sending the pistols into them to have it done, I almost fell out of my chair when they told me how much it would be for just one. it would have ended up costing almost $300.00 just to have them one then the same amount for the second one, I am looking for a really good armor or an H&K armor around here in KY that could do it for me if I ordered the parts kit.

There's nothing to screw up. If you follow the instructions in the reference section it's really very simple. As far as calling HK......you're saying that you called HK and time them that you had a V3 P30 and that you wanted them to convert it to LEM and they told you that they would do it and it would cost $300? Based on their stance in the past this doesn't sound right.

Yes I called and talked with them about doing it. I might be mistaken on the price but from what the guy told me it was $100.00 plus for the parts, then the charge for them doing the work which I think if I am not mistaken a fee per hour or something like that then for me to ship the gun to them and then for me to pay to have the gun shipped back to me. The guy I was talking to was throwing out all kinds of prices and charges.

I think I will just order the parts myself and try and do it myself or find an armor that can do it for me as that would be my best bet is what I am thinking and would save me some money instead of me trying to do all of the running around and paying for shipping and all that crazy stuff to H&K.

There is a really good LEM conversion video a member posted here recently on an HK45c. Along with Big Bore's guide (see reference section), you should have no problems. And if you do, just hop back on this forum and tell us what the problem is and someone will walk you through it. I am also surprised HK is doing conversions on P30's -- I thought they didn't do those because of the gap left from removing the decocker. Good luck!

Hmm, interesting. Need more confirmation on this, be great news if we can now "officially" convert P30/L V3 to V1/2 without voiding warranty now.
Yeah what was funny also is the guy I talked to said I could get the kits myself from the vendor here at HKPARTS.net. This really caught me off guard as I have been looking through their website and either I over looked the P30 LEM conversion kits or they jut do not have and carrey them.

I will look at it and just might try and do it myself. I am going to have to rebuild the toy funds back up since I just picked up another P30.

I wouldn't get excited just yet. My money would be on the fact that whoever was talked to at HK missed that it was for a P30 and was basing his info accordingly. I find it very hard to believe that HK is blessing such a conversion.

After looking around here and searching, I would have to agree with you on this. I know i did tell the person that I have a P30 DA/SA so that is where some of the coffusion is coming from after talking with the H&K guy.
