I noticed while glancing through 'Guns and Ammo Handguns 2008 Annual preview edition of the releases that the p30 was described as a "combat competition" pistol.

What?

Im not even paying attention to anything about the P30 until its described as being in stock.

There are just to many rumors flying around lately, I wont believe anything until I see it.

Same ding dongs that said H&K released a SAO Tactical earlier this year.
(They should stay with doing reviews on water/bb guns)

The stock P30 is designed as a service pistol, like USP and P2000. There is a P30L with about inch longer slide and barrel, that may be considered as a basis to comp pistol. I don't think it's designed in the same category as USP Elite so it still wouldnt' consider it competition worthy. Personally I like the L version, it makes the slide v. frame ratio much better looking, like a classic 1911.
