P30/HK45 vs USP

Can anyone educate me on the differences between the P30/HK45 and the USP? Not the obvious things like ergonomics and controls, but rather the internals and build, etc. I'm basically curious if the P30/HK45 possesses the same bomb-proof, dead-reliable, "takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'" aspects as the USP.

The P30/HK 45 have the robustness of the USP with enhanced ergonomics such as the grip. They have a different RSA where the USP full size has a dual spring and the P30/HK45 have the buffer system.

HK45 and USP internals are very similar, having almost all of the same internal components. Having said that, it doesn't mean that small changes can't have beneficial or adverse effects. At least one tested sample of the HK45 has proven to be Bomb Proofish to the extreme as you have worded. I've never been in a P30.
As the USP been out longer, there are examples of ridiculous round counts (Federal Ammo test gun something like 290K+), but then again, P30 went 91K in one test, and the HK45 went 50K in a relatively short time period. Another thread recently stated VP9 with over 60K, so I'm guessing HK does their homework before releasing a new model.

I just prefer the ergos and ambi controls on the newer ones, have had zero issues with any of them. My VP9 range toy averages 1K rounds a month, and just keeps going 'bang' when I pull the trigger. It eats every ammo I've fed it, at least a dozen different ones.
Basically just newer version of the usp compact.

HK45 internals are about 93% USP.
Robust yes, I don't think to extent Full size USP 45, I'm sure the Recoil Reduction System enables that ... have never heard a HK45 going 297k+ rounds like the one over at Federal Ammo, and that was 3 yrs ago, HK sent it back after a few springs were replace along with sights.

HK polymer hand guns have an outstanding reputation for being extremely durable, reliable, and of above average build quality.

It's very obvious taking the P30, HK45 and the USP's apart to clean them that they all have the same build quality with the same materials in most cases.
Here's the link to the comment on USP45 durability and the report of one at Federal Ammo going 297,000 rounds with only spring updates: http://www.hkpro.com/forum/hk-handgun-talk/160710-chat-hk-armorer-must-read.html.

The trigger mechanism internals for HK45, HK45c, USP45 and USP45c are identical. For all I know, that may extend to the P2000, P30 lines but I haven't worked on those; there are those on the forum who have and can tell you. With the exception of some springs, the trigger assemblies are all machined parts, as distinct from some other polymer gun makers. As mentioned the recoil spring assemblies are different.
Thanks for the feedback. I was leaning towards the P30 as my next purchase because I own a VP9 and liked that the mags are interchangeable. I also want a USP because a USP compact was my first handgun purchase and I miss it, although I would want a full size this time around. So really was just looking for some insight to help make my decision. Whatever I choose will be a dedicated EDC bag gun.
I started with a USP 40 as my EDC. A few years later I had the USP 45compact and now the P30s in 40 s&w. Other than the obvious grip differences, slightly better triggers on the USPs and all of the modern rails, serrations etc on the P30s they are all pretty much the same as to durability, build quality etc. I'd buy all three of your choices, shoot them, live with them a while and I am sure you will still not be able to make up your mind. Just like me, it's a disease!!!!
Buy another VP9.
Buy another VP9.
I know several friends who've done this, as have I
