Besides that it does not exist?
Hi guys

There are no current plans of a .40 P30 anytime soon.
There has been a history of 9mm handguns becoming .40S&W handguns. Look at the Beretta 92 and 96. So maybe there are no plans currently in the works, but it would stand to reason that they would make one in the future. Hell the P30 has not seen the light of day for even a moment and the HK 45 is still a dream to most, so I wouldn't wait by the phone on this one. But, if HK made a .40S&W P30 I'd be all over it. ;)
There will be a P30 in .40sw. Question is, how soon?

My guess is it will go like this;

P30
HK45
HK45C
P30 .40sw
P30L 9mm & .40sw

Then eventually, a P30 sub compact, and the phase out of the USP and P2K line.

I'd love a P30L in .40sw, but I dont expect to have that option here in the US for at least a couple years.

The P30L is a longer barreled P30, it is only available in the European market, it is not in .40, it is akin to a 9mm target model (for lack of a better term). It would be cool if they were to import it.. the P30 is only slightly longer than a P2000, the P30L would be more in line with a full size duty gun in my opinion, although I would turn down a P30 either....
and the phase out of the USP

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! :26:

I think sooner rather than later.

Why?

Because if HK wants to successfully compete in the american LE and civilian marketplace with Sig in particular, they need the P30 in .40SW and the P30L (in 9mm and .40SW) soon.
The new P250 with its choice of four popular calibres, which will be available as a Compact und a Full-size gun in 2008, (could) make a big impact on the marketplace.

Perhaps, but HK touted the USP as a handgun that was built for the 40 cal from the ground up, not a modified 9mm (the 40 cal USP was introduced before the 9mm). I suppose HK could always say they intended the P30 to be made in 40 cal when they initially designed it.

You should change your username to "Nostradamus". :D

Actually, according to a German gun mag the P30 was designed to handle .40 S&W. The 9mm has some kind of spacer inside the magazine.

Ever seen a P250 in a caliber other than 9mm?

Sig Sauer Germany has said for years now that they would bring out the 250 in other calibers, but what happened? Nothing.

True, but the "new" P250 Compact is made by SigArms in NH (or however they call themselves now) and Bud Fini, SIG Sauer's Vice President of Marketing has made this annoucement recently:

(I hope the link is okay with the bosses here)
What will the P250 be on the American market? Just another plastic handgun. Even with favorable reviews it won't do much to the position enjoyed by GLOCK et al.

Also, one could be unfair and compare the P250 with the P30 by judging them how they fared on the market both guns were designed for in the first place. ;)
