There has been pages upon pages about the P30 V1,V2 & V4 triggers & associated springs for trigger pull reduction. Is there anything with springs that can be done for the V3? I have seen posts where some claim that they know pound rating of springs.

I guess I'd like to know if one could reduce or crisp up the P30 trigger. Could you list stock & replacement spring weight and part numbers for stock & replacement springs? What about the firing pin block spring?I have NO INTENTION of doing anything else but spring replacements with factory parts.

Could you please put out some information on the V3 system please?

So, do you have photos to compare & part numbers for each to post? Inquiring minds want to know ...

What he is saying is that there are no springs that will make a significant change to the trigger pull on the V3. If you wanted to use the heavy springs from the LEM to create some monster SA/DA trigger, I guess you could, but I don't see anyone actually WANTING that.

I was referring to both the heavy & light firing pin block springs. Without photos, how can I tell what I have in the pistol?

Interesting. I have a 2010 build year and it has the old, stiff spring. Got some time to take it apart & look. Would it really make any difference with the lighter spring?

Just finished installing the new light firing pin block spring in my P30 V3. That did the trick!!

WOOHOOO !!! Feels like my Sig with the trigger job!

Hope all the new ones come this way. A MAJOR improvement in the older V3 trigger. Never thought a spring with half the weight could make that much difference!!

Insteresting. So I have one of the FIRST German made P30's to hit the USA. I could assume too that I have the heavy spring then yes? I mean that would make sense since it's older then yours.

Me thinks it might be worth ordering one too then! :)

Can you tell me what is required to remove the spring and replace it? Do roll pins need to be removed? I'm just wondering is new ones need to be ordered?

Thanks!

It took me less than 10 minutes to do mine. The hardest part is to realign the block & firing pin so they slide back together. Get a PROPER size pin punch & invert the slide so you are looking at the inside. Take the punch & tap the roll pin next to the FPB. You do not have to totally remove the pin. As soon as the firing pin becomes out, you're good. Pull out the firing pin & spring making SURE you see the flat on the side of the FP in relation to the slide as you view it from the back. Remove the block & spring. I took this time to clean out the firing pin & block channels. Mine had SOME crud in there. Lobe up the parts, reassemble. When you tap the roll pin back down, make sure it does NOT protrude from the top or bottom. You're good to go.

There is a thread here somewhere (I can't find it now) with photos that goes in detail how to do it.

Might just be good timing to do this mod. I was recently noticing that the rear most pin, the one that would hold the FP block, the top and inside channel of the pin is completely covered with rust. I was thinking about buying new pins from HKParts.net and replacing it before the rust spreads into the slide. I can already see where the rust is right to the edge of the pin and touching the hole in the slide. Doesn't seem to have spread into the actual hole yet.

Sounds like I can kill two birds with one stone. I built my own HK USC to UMP conversion with a Dremel tool. Built half a dozen or so AR's and a few 1911's from scratch, I'm sure I can probably handle a roll in! Watch, I scratch the slide! :D

Duct tape for the WIN!

I'm pretty sure my gun must have the old spring. It's a lower serial numbered HK 30, 129-0026xx.

Anyway, thanks for the info bro! :)

Ah so it's just the spring I should get then. OK!

Based on my serial number of 129-0026xx and the fact I got it when they they first came out, I'm going to guess I have the old spring and just order one. Looking forward to the results M_E_ got! :)

Thanks everyone!

kdogg and M_E_, I wish there was a detailed write up with pictures for this!!! Is it really that simple? What size punch and other tools did you end up using?
Here's the thread about converting V2 LEM to V1, but the 2nd post will talk about how to remove the Firing Pin Block Spring. I used a 3/32 roll-pin punch and a small hammer. A needle point pliers will help removing the FPB but not necessary.

Great! Thanks for the info. I just ordered the light spring, so I'll give you guys an update once it's in.
