Just curious to know if anyone owns a .40 to 9mm conversion barrel? If so, how's the reliability? Do you need to use 9mm maggs? Any other mods necessary in order to accomplish this conversion? Thank you

I'm not aware of a conversion barrel but you can check HKparts.net . As far as a mags go, you can fire 9mm out of a .40 mag , NOT .40 from a 9mm . I would only do that at the range , but I would just buy the mags . The pistols do use the same lowers .

Is there any update from anyone who's converted their P30L 40 into with a 9 mm ported barrel? Pics?
Bought a 40 P30L for a great price but really wanted a 9mm. If a simple barrel purchase would do the trick, that would be great.

The mags are almost exactly the same. The only difference is the width of the feedlips. With the 40 being slightly wider for the larger shell, and the difference in markings on the witness windows.
9mm will feed reliably from the factory 40 mags.
Other than the barrel, there is no need for further mods. They even use the same recoil spring.
Also the same if you want to get and can find, a 357 sig barrel, I might add.

I spoke with Franki at EFK. She is going to put up pre/back orders up for the P30 .40 to 9mm conversion barrels up again next month. If they get enough interest to make it worth production, they will bring it back. I have my heart set on one - so tell your friends.

Just for information purposes I have a 9mm conversion barrel for my 40 cal P30 from EFK.
I did buy a 9mm p30 recoil assembly and use 9mm P30 magazines with it.
I have been very happy with it. It functions flawlessly with that combination.

I also have one and I had to get a 9mm recoil spring in order for it to cycle properly. But it does feed with 40 or 9mm magazines. It's much cheaper to just buy the recoil spring and swap it on your existing assembly, but it is a bit of a pain to do.
