I recently purchased a P30L and love this thing. I've owned many guns and several HK's and this thing is amazing. I am now considering a HK45 full size to "match" the P30L. Other than obvious caliber difference can I expect similar results with the HK45?

Kind of an non-specific question, but suffice it to say that among the membership here anyone who has an HK45 loves them. Truly an amazing full size .45 caliber handgun. My particular sample is super accurate and very pleasant to shoot. Given that I'm only 5'-7" and live in Florida, it is a bit too big for me to carry in Florida.

I have 1 P30L with plans to pick up 2 more in 9mm (V1 and V3) and I have 4 HK45's. I will say the P30L is my favorite of the P30's and I love the whole series. The HK45 is my favorite gun. It is the most balanced, and feels like it was designed around my hand.
They're solid guns and are good to go out of the box if you get the LE package with the Meprolight night sights. It's awesome in V1 DA/SA or even in Light LEM like I have as my carry gun. IT's also my fastest 45acp out there. I wish the P30L had the trigger of the HK45 so it was truly the 9mm version of the HK45 in some ways. That's the only thing holding the P30 series back IMO.. I would say jump in both feet first and don't look back. Wolvee who posts a lot less than he used to was a huge P30 guy and fought getting an HK45, he finally ended up with one, and instantly fell in love with it.
Also they're possibly the most underrated guns that HK currently makes. No one denies the performance or feel, it's about their previous love the USP 45 (which I also own multiples of) that's keeping them from loving the HK45 just as much. But it's definitely an amazing gun.

I love my p30L but I have three full size Hk45s. It is the best production 45ACP ever. End of story. Trigger is much better than the P30. Ergos are similar -- I think better since the grip has a little more meat. Should work in the same holsters, leather at least. Buy one you will love it!
