P30LS LEM

Yup, you read that right. I own one of the 500 "oops" guns. Why put a safety on a LEM gun you ask? There is no good reason or purpose, it just is. But you know what? I really like it. It's not the safety, or the length, or the sight radius, or the trigger. There are things to like, and things to hate. But you know what you get out of this P30L LEM that you'll get with no other?

SHORT SLIDE RELEASE! Yeah, that's right. They got them out of the way in order to make room for the safety lever. I'll assume all P30S and P30LS pistols come with the same short slide releases, but I have no idea. What I do know is that I wildly prefer shooting the P30LS more than my P30 v3.

Now if I can find a trade for my P30 with somebody who hates LEM... hmm.

Yup, they both have the short slide release.
I love my oops gun, and use it for IPSC matches. The safety is never engaged, but is used as a reference point for my thumb so I don't go too far forward and hit the slide release. That short slide release helps too.

The gun absolutely is a dream to shoot BTW, and is plenty fast.
I use mine for 3gun. :)
Fun gun to shoot, and wife loves it also.
I do use the safety on it.
Anyone have side-by-side pictures of a P30L and a P30LS? I didn't know the slide release was shorter.. Hmm.
I just purchased the same pistol. It does duty as my HD pistol, and the wife is thoroughly checked out on it. That's the great part. She wanted a safety. I got her a pistol with a safety. Not worth arguing over the "whys" of it. I had the green light to purchase one of the best combat pistols made! Easy decision...Oh yea, it also wears a Surefire X400.

It has quickly become my favorite pistol. (not an easy thing to do)

I wasn't aware that there were so few P30LS LEM pistols imported. I can tell you that with the features you mentioned, it is a great firearm for the purposes I use it for. You forgot to mention that it's light LEM, straight from the manufacturer! Mine is in .40 caliber.
TopGunSupply usually has a good supply of these P30LS LEM's. But they're all out of stock right now.

The 1st pic is the P30LS. The 2nd pic is P30, but P30L has the same exact length slide release. The slide release is a little longer in the P30/P30L. The 3rd pic is the HK stock picture, but it shows the P30LS with a longer slide release. You can tell by looking at the gap between the slide release and safety lever.

I'll take a couple of pics when I get home tonight.

HK factory pic showing longer slide release (pay attention to the gap between the slide release and safety lever). Must be an older version?

TopGunSupply is where I found mine. Great transaction. I might have snatched up the last one!
So i assume it's a standard P30 slide release then?

No, both P30S and P30LS have the short slide release. I don't know when HK changed out the long release on the P30LS to the shorter one, but both of my P30LS have the shorter ones.
I mean to say the P30S and LS have a standard P30 slide release? Isnt the P30's slide release smaller/shorter than the standard P30L's?

Nope. Same length.
So the part is unique to the S series, eh? Interesting.

Without confusing you further, both the P30S and P30LS have the same size (short) slide release. The P30 and P30L have the longer slide release. The slide release on the P30S/P30LS is a different part, not same as the one on the P30/P30L. Clear as mud?
NCDevilDog: Since you have both variants of the P30 - I have the P30S V3 and would like to pickup a P30L - but am interested in getting something different than another DA/SA in 9mm. I'm interested in your LEM is this a light pull or a heavier pull? I heard there was "light" and "heavy" version with the safety. What do you think?
And would you happen to have the skew number for your variant? THanks.

If you're talking about the P30LS, it is only available as light LEM (V1 LEM) at this time.

That is correct. I like the Light in the P30, but also like the TG Special. P2KSK is also Light, and I really like it better than the heavy option. USP I can see going to the sightly heavier connector. Just MO.

Would you know the Skew #. I'd like to ensure I get the right one just in case.
interesting 0 never realizied my P30S had the short release and the frame is actually cut different.
