1. Does P30SK share the hammer spring / mainspring with P30/P30L, or it is a different part?

2. For those who own both P30SK and P2000sk, is the trigger reach using largest backstraps the same, or longer on one of those guns?

Thanks a ton in advance.

the hammer spring on the P30sk and P2000sk are shorter than the USP or P30 springs. that being said i have swapped out my hammer springs for wolff springs which provide less stacking and smoother DA pull without really dropping the overall pull weight. in these cases i snipped the spring to the same length as the OEM P30sk spring and it was worked just fine for thousands of rounds. is this HK approved? probably not.

this is subjective but the trigger reach on the P30sk with largest backstrap feels a bit longer than the P2000sk, but it's pretty minimal. if you have really big hands i think the P30sk will be a better fit overall. otherwise i sort of prefer the P2000sk w flush baseplates.

The changeable backstraps add more of a hump at the heel, but minimal to no overall extra length to the grip. I've used the large and medium on the P30sk, and small and medium on the VP9. I've not noticed a difference in trigger reach. But then again I don't pay much attention to that. I size my grips for a blend of comfort and stability.

Thanks to all of you, gents.

TooSixy, I was almost certain that was the case on springs. I was 100% certain that it would be you to clarify that :). I can't get as nice of a trigger pull on my 2000sk as I have on my P30 without compromising ignition reliability. Doubt that 30sk will be different then.

Squib, that was my perception too comparing a regular P30 to P2000sk, maybe a tad longer on 30. Didn't know if 30sk was similar to regular P30 in that regard.

Klaustrophobia, it is not really trigger reach that I care about, after all my Hks all have 4.1 parts, but I didn't want to complicate my post. It is a reach / finger position at the a trigger break point. I need my finger in a relatively neutral relaxed position at that point as opposed to all curled in, considering how close that trigger breaks in on LEM. Large back strap is what allows for that, and it also allows for a better retention of a highest strong hand grip. I don't care much about the comfort.

Ah I misread your post. Thought you were asking about difference from one backstrap to the next on the same gun. The large and to lesser extent medium backstraps are fantastic for locking in the high grip like you say, but it does leave the finger a little curled in. I don't think I would have noticed if you hadn't mentioned it though. Mind you, mine is a V3 and I don't have nor ever even handled a p2000sk to compare. I'm 6'2" but I feel like I might have slightly smaller than average hands for my size.
