Hey guys, my LTC should be arriving any day now and I have a decision to make. I do like the stock sights on this gun from footage I've seen and more interested in the no safety version 3 model since having a long da first pull.

So my question is should I get the p30sk stock sights with no safety or for about $20 more get the Le version yet it has a safety?
Interested to see what you all think please vote and if you don't mind provide any reasoning. Thanks!

I know it would be good to handle the model with the safety to see if it affects my grip and how I like the feel. Not sure how it will affect appendix carry maybe adding a little bulk there. But local shops will not let me handle a gun without a license and there are no places to rent this gun near me in Massachusetts. For those of you who don't know this is a very liberal State unfortunately and the gun laws are very strict here although I don't think handling a gun is an issue as long as someone has a license with me, they don't want me handling one.

The stock sights are not true night sights so if you are planning to carry it or for HD, guess what? The safety levers will add bulk to the width of the gun.

Last but not least, you can always swap the stock sights on the P30SK (w/out safety levers) but you cannot remove the safety levers on the P30SKS.

^ thanks yes i do know the stock sights are more like a watch's luminosity needing some charge from light etc. I still like what I've seen from them. Haven't seen good footage on the night sights really tho...the green from the stocks sights look very nice to pick up on.

I do plan on carrying concealed.

I went with door number three, P30SK V1 LE.
Meprolights and a third mag.
Personally prefer Light LEM with no levers.

Full Disclosure:
Did end up swapping out the Meps for Heinie Straight Eights

I use mine for CCW.

P30SK V1 Lite LEM, non-LE.

Carry with a USPc 13+1 magazine with an X Grip adapter, in a Mitch Rosen Upper Limit leather holster with a Dr. Scholls Gel insert Velcro'd on.

I like the P30SKs personally. If you like a manual safety, or you prefer condition 1 carry, I'd get the one with the safety

^thanks for the feedback. I've read from some the safety gets in the way i take it this is not your case. I don't know if i like a safety or not as this is my first gun purchase. I do have the mindset that the long da pull combined with a hammer fired gun are safeties of sorts and of course finger on trigger only when ready to shoot.

I'd go with the stock sight model but that's only because I really only like Dawson Precision and 10-8 sights so I always end up changing out my OEM sights regardless of whether or not they're tritium.

I have two HK P30 SK's, one is the LE V-1 LEM trigger +3MAGS + night sights, the other is the LE V-3 +3 MAGS +night sights, both have no outside safety's, both are excellent guns, reliable and accurate, I prefer the LEM trigger, but also like the D/S trigger on the V-3, both are keepers for me...

V3(w/o safety) with Meprolights and 3rd mag. This was my 2nd handgun purchase after the vp9. Being more comfortable now, I could have gone with the SK LEM version. Not sure if the 3rd mag is necessary but a good overall deal with the meprolights.. I carry my vp9 magazine as an extra.

As my first gun, it's a reason I'm choosing the v3. Interesting point you make.

Guys, the v1 LEM isn't an option in this thread LOL. Thanks for the input though. Besides, i believe massachusetts is a very difficult state to get v1 in. It's hard enough to get the model without safety since some shops are saying the safety is required in this state.

So as a first gun, and having shot a double action/single action more accurately than a Dao, i feel more comfortable with the v3 me thinks :)

So i handled a p30sks today. The safety did not seem to get in way of my grip and was difficult to actuate which could be considered a good thing. I tried sweeping it off a few times w/ thumb and it was a little challenging I may not use it much if I do go with that model. Ahhh
