Folks,

Quick question for you guys fortunate enough to own a P7. I am wondering if the P7 acts similiarly to most semi-autos. Can you fire the P7 if someone were to push up against the slide? I know you can not fire the USPs if someone is pushing up against the slide.

TIA.

Once the slide is about 0.20" out of battery, the trigger is disabled.

If I'm scared enough of someone that I feel the need to point a gun at him, I surer n' hell don't want to be at contact distance...YMMV.

Is there anything that CAN be safely fired with the slide pushed back? I haven't seen every semi mechanism by a long shot, but I can't think of any that can - every thing I can think of prevents firing out of battery by design.

Supposedly the reason for the slightly extended or protuding recoil spring assembly on Springfield's XD is to keep the slide locked up when pressed against an object.
The J-Frames do make an execellent BUG, my 340PD is great to carry at only 12oz. I must admit I only practice with .38s and mix in a few random .357mags to keep me honest.
