OK, I'll do my best to describe the issue. When I rack the slide it has a grinding feel about an inch in to racking...then smooths out. WhenI shoot it the feeling becomes WAY more noticeable. the second to last time I shot it actually would not allow me to rack the slide all the way. I field striped and detaile cleaned it and worked out a lot of the issue. It would rach smoothly IF I racked it from the top...If I attempted to rack the slide from the back usind my thumb and index finger it had a very slight grind an inch into racking. I shot it today, NO malfuntions, but the slide started that gritty feel quickly and more noticeacably with only a few mags spent.

1) Has ANYONE had this experiance...My feeling are a little hurt knowing somthing may be seriously wrong w my p7

2) Does HK fix police trade ins under warrenty...I bought it from HKparts so I'm pretty sure it wasnt shot after it left the HK factory

My P7 was experiencing the same issues a while back. I cleaned the gas cylinder with the P7 cleaning tool and then with some solvent and oil, cleaned out the cylinder with the cylinder brush. Slide racks fine now. If you've already done that, I'm not sure. I'm no expert, as I'm sure someone here will chime in shortly.

Thank you, I probably do need to clean it again regardless. I'm curious to see how it acts after that.

I took a bore brush on a cleaning rod attached to a drill. Put some jewlers rouge on the brush and polished the cylinder. Did the same with cotton swab. Then cleaned an very light oil.
No problem ever again.

I suspect when my p7 had the new finish applied it added a few microns to the inside of the cylinder.

The rouge is a polishing compound that removed it..... Don't over do this... I only ran the drill 10 secs or so.

Hope that helps
