I found in another post that PSP mag code dates are IA=1980 and IF=1085 what does IB= ?
Are there other codes? What are the uncoded mags date range?

I just joined today and I don't think these are date codes. Hi everyone! I got here by looking up this magazine date code issue. I have been trying to decipher mine. I have a 1982 German State Police trade-in PSP with the flush mag release upgrade that appears to be a very full set with S/N stamped box etc . . . It has iA, iB and I think HJ (it's not in front of me right now). An issued gun with 3 mags stamped differently, including sequential IA and IB indicates mag marking for some duty purpose, to allow mag rotation, range mags, or different ammo. Does anyone have police issued full sets with similar, particularly IA and IB mags included?I don't think it's been shown that those are truly date codes like on the guns.
If you are around and check this post, io = 1997, and ij = 1989!!! :biggrin:Those do not apply to magazines. If they did, you'd have to tell me what year my io and ij coded mags are?

Welcome to the site--- they are date codes--- HJ = 1979, IA = 1980, and IB = 1981!!! :biggrin:I just joined today and I don't think these are date codes. Hi everyone! edit: here is a PSP for sale with IA and IB, for example. Coincidence? No, these are not date codes. They help you tell your mags apart:

This is mostly correct for firearms but for the magazines, a "J" is substituted for "K". So J=9I guessed that too but didn't wan't to rely on a ?.
I just found this. If it applies to all H&Ks(and mags) it is 1981. Although it says it's for USPs.
From H&K website:
How can I tell what year my USP was made?
The date code is located on the Left hand side of the pistol and is represented by two letters. Below is the date coding chart. The letter will correspond with the number.
•A - 0
•B - 1
•C - 2
•D - 3
•E - 4
•F - 5
•G - 6
•H - 7
•I - 8
•K - 9
OK, got it. Does anyone have a police issue full set with all three mags marked with same code? IA, IA, IA?Welcome to the site--- they are date codes--- HJ = 1979, IA = 1980, and IB = 1981!!!
