Went to the range this morning to fire my recently acquired P7M8 and try out some ammunition. Using three factory magazines, I fired about 100 rounds of Federal American Eagle 124 grain without a hitch and later mixed in 20 rounds of Federal 147 grain Hydra Shok. These rounds also fired flawlessly even when interspersed with the hardball. The 147 grain is a round I favor, however, I read that this pistol may have issues with this heavier bulleted round. Does anyone use this round as their defensive ammunition? Thoughts?

EnoreeRiver, thanks for pointing to the right thread. Tons of useful information. Based on what I read, I won't be using the 147 grain for carry, notwithstanding the fact that they seemed to feed perfectly well. I'll probably keep to 124 grain +P.

I stick with 124gr in my P7M13.

Yeah stick with standard pressure ammo in your P7, +P ammo tends to over function the action.

Tried the Speer 124gr today and it worked perfectly. It's what I'll be using. Thanks, gents.
