I broke down and bought a NIB P7M8 before they are all gone, and all I
can say is WOW! Why did I not buy this pistol a lot sooner? It's only
been available for about 30 years. What was I thinking all this time?

I love this pistol! Super accurate, no malfunctions and such a pleasure
to shoot.

At home while cleaning it, in preparation for firing, I thought I
had made a big expensive mistake. That squeeze cocking thing, well I
don't know?

At the range all my concerns were quickly vaporized into thin air.

This is a remarkable pistol. So easy to shoot and operate. Extremely
fast on the reload. Just insert the new loaded mag and squeeze to
release the slide and fire. Faster than any 1911.

While firing, you don't even realize you're holding the "squeeze cocker
lever" down. And the trigger is crisp and clean with no drag or creep.

And It's made of steel, no polymer or alloy crap. Except for the plastic
heat shield just above the trigger guard. I noticed no heat problems at
all. I fired 50rds as fast as reasonably possible with no heat buildup.

I highly recommend this pistol! Get one fast before they are all gone!
Forget the price, it's worth it!

It's been said that, "the P7M8 is the greatest pistol the American shooter
does not know about."

Why did I not buy one years ago when they were cheaper?

Congratulations you lucky devil! Where did you get your M8, do they have any others for sale? What date code? I have a grade A PSP coming from CDNN, hope it arrives tomorrow! I can't believe I'm considering an M8 or M13 as well.

Congrats and welcome to the Cult! The P7 is one of the best handguns ever built. Be careful as P7's tend to multiply :D

One interesting function you may not have read about or discovered - there is no particular order of operations to make it fire.

You can squeeze cock it first, then pull the trigger, or pull the trigger first, then squeeze, or pull and squeeze at the same time.

No matter how you do it, it always goes "bang!".

Pure German perfection. IMO the elite of combat pistols, and the perfect choice for concealed carry due to the slim nature, ease of operation, and the fact that IF it ever made it out of YOUR hands and into the attacker's hands... they most likely will not know how to operate it.

I also love the fast removal of the firing assembly to render it completely useless should you ever need to leave it in your car. If the theif steals the car and comes across the gun they'd have to spend hundreds of dollars to make it operational, and of course... they wouldn't do that.

I own the PSP version and have used it on occasion as a back-up weapon. It's intuitive design will always get a nod from me for 'quick-into-action. Now if I could only find a reasonably priced .45ACP version, I'd be a happy camper...

New guns come and go; however, my love for the squeeze-cockers never fades. Simply fantastic handguns.

If you are serious about wanting one,

JDP7 (Prem. Board Member) @ Deep's Guns (270) 692-4476

Has a new, unfired, uncocked, un-screwed with M8, and another PSP I believe.

Just a FYI

I bought it at Bachman's Pawn and Gun in Dallas, Tx. (214-351-3628)
I live a few miles from them. They have a very large in stock inventory
of HK pistols. Gooood prices.

They had a couple more new ones and also a couple of PSPs.
Date code is AH.

Now you know what the hype is all about. ;)

Every time I put that pistol in my hand I plead "PLEASE don't make me buy one!", but eventually I will crumble like all the others. :D

I'd been planning to buy one for several years. I finally broke down and bought one a few months ago. Now I have one more waiting for me to pick up and two more coming to my dealer for me. It's a fine gun.

Pistols may come and they may go, but my P7M8 and my PSP will always be on hand. Great design and wonderful to shoot. Most American shooters are hung up on high cap mags and don't give them a second look. With a pistol as accurate as the P7 eight rounds will suffice. It's thin like the 1911, but easier to conceal. A better gun IMHO. Enjoy!
