Just bought a p9s in 45 cal. I see that there is much talk about replacing a certain rubber/plastic buffer to maintain performance/safety. What is the cause for such concern? Where can I obtain a replacement buffer if necessary.

Thanks.

I just replaced a buffer on one. I got them from HK for five dollars. I bought a few extras. The gun could disintegrate if the buffer is bad....not really but it could cause great stress on the gun with the action of the slide. Don't risk it. My buffer had turned to mush and I had to dig it out with a chopstick. A cracked gun is no good to anyone. I had a little trouble changing my P9S due to it having the un-updated buffer housing but I did get it done with the help of another set of hands.f you will send me a PM I will suggest some good websites for the P9S.
