Locate dead center of each hole for the mach-catch. Go down 0.6150" and drill a 1/8" hole on each side (but absolutely no larger than 1/8"). Once the flat is rolled, you will need a custom-made bushing for the paddle. Install the paddle using the bushing and 1/8" O.D. rod. TIG weld the ends of the rod to the receiver and grind smooth. Then mount your shelf.

Interesting... I would have done the install AFTER the shelf was mounted. Thanx for the idea.
When I added a paddle to my G3 and G3K conversions, I hated drilling through the shelf cause it was a PIA to take your time cleaning it up so the shelf didn't look fugly.

Got it that you for the advice sir!!
You're welcome!

NOTE: If you make the bushing yourself, you will need to machine in (or use two washers) for each side as the paddle is narrrower than the space it sits in. If you do not, the paddle will slide side-to-side and bind up. For reference, the bushing needs to be 0.610" long and the working area for the paddle needs to be 0.480" long. If you make the working area any shorter, you also run the risk of binding the paddle.
