Hi guys I am new to the forum and have a question I recently got a C93 and it runs fine but the problem is that the magazines do not lock in all the way it takes is a bump and the magazines fall out is there any way I can fix it without sending it back to century.

Look at the edges along the magazine well and see where the high spots are with the mag in place. You may notice the raised areas around your mag is the locking point to the magwell and mag catch slot. Do not file the slot. If you file the slot, the mag will fit but it is low in relation to the bolt carrier and ejector. I would file the magwell and try to square it up. During the stamping process, there is probably a small amount of flashing that needs to be cleaned up.

From what I can see there is no flashing and according to the calipers it is square it’s like the catch does not make enough contact
Do you have to hold the mag in while firing? I would try to buff the top edge of the mag catch on the inside with a dremel and some compound. Make sure the mag is going all the way in up to the mag cuffs that stops the mag from seating further, before you try the latter suggestion. You might have to take a very slight bit of material off the top of the mag catch, if the rifle feeds good. If you do decide to try this , go very slow taking very little material each time. Mag catch mount hole might be too high for some reason. I would just send it back if you're not comfortable trying it but you can always replace the mag catch fairly cheaply if you take too much off. Like 8.00$, I believe. Someone chime in if you think this is bad advice.

If all in the above post check good and the raised portion on the mag sits flush with the magwell, this is what I do to fit MKE mags. With the magazine fully seated and flush, held firm, I take a fine point Xacto knife and trace around the mag catch opening on to the magazine. this will give you a visual reference of where and how much to trim. Your comment that the gun shoots fine gives me the impressinon that it feeds and strips rounds properly, but the catch isn't fully engaging. The catch is also really easy to remove and reinstall, so you may want to pop it out and take a look. If the problem happens with all the mags you have, and the marking on the mag isn't far off, it may be just as well to adjust the catch so any unmodified mag will lock up properly. Just my 2c...

MKE mags are a little different. They need to be cut out to the inside of the slot. It sounds like a height problem with the catch ,not the usual milling of a wider slot on an MKE mag for the catch to seat to the inside. I assume he's using the provided 40 rnd alluminum mags..yes? These are already built correctly with the right mag catch slot on magazine.

I have the same issue with my C93P. The factory 40 round mags fit great with about .020" clearance between the bottom of the magwell and the magazine stops. The MKE mags require a slap to get the mag catch to lock in place. But all three MKE's are cut the same and require the same extra work to seat. I was debating cutting the latch slot higher. It's not the magwell in the gun because the factory mags seat fine.

I have not tried the MKE's in a factory gun yet to see how they seat but will post back.

The MKE mags require a little of the plastic to be removed so that they fit correctly. I think there is a post about. Or just pm Ghillebear about it or Retrodog. Both made comments on a couple of months ago. Search is your friend.

The MKE's fit the factory HK53 very well. They latch with just a slight push up and seem to fit the factory gun better than the factory aluminum magazine. No wobble or rocking issues at all. I'll probably raise the latch slot on the magazine to fit my C93P and be done with it since they seem to run good at that height.

Those MKE mags need for that "LIP" that runs all the way around them to be removed since it contacts the lower mag well lips, which FIRMLY prevent it fitting into well!
I had to do that to all three of my MKE's so they would even fit the C-93. Then I inked the whole upper area on the mag that fits into the well, saw where it hit/contacted the gun most, and then SLOWLY started filing, then sanding, those same areas until it fit AND locked in place. These are INDIVIDUALLY fitted to my C-93 but work great. However each gun is different and 2 0f my 3 won't lock into a friends C-93 while the third is perfect in both guns.
Since they all work in mine now, I like them very much. I have three HK 30 rounders (new) from HPParts, and three HK 25 rounders (also new fro the Eighties and his HK 33) from a friend and they also fit first time/every time.
The 40 rounders I have (2 came with the C-93 and I bought 5 more from Keep On Shooting) are hit and miss as to staying in gun while firing.
The locking tab (and ALL other parts on this gun) look almost new/unused. Mine is a low serial number gun (under1000), and the number is on TOP of receiver rather than on the side of the mag well.
Gun DID have to visit GHILLIE before it would cycle properly, and to get the bolt gap to stop shrinking. No new barrel/trunnion has been installed yet and gap is steady around a loose .009".
Shoots great and groups as good, or better than most of my AR's.

Hell of a time for me to mention it now, but did you ever think that your C-93 receiver's mag well was a bit too long? I had a similar situation with my 53K made off a SW receiver. Only one of my 2 dozen 40 rounders fit the gun and neither did the two Beta Mags. It was kinda obvious that the mag well needed to be trimmed back. Now everything fits and the mags still fit the original HK-33 that I bought back in the beginning.

Remember, none of these clones are made at HK... so don't expect the mag to fit the clone. Change the clone to fit the mag and then you can expect the mag to fit everything else as well.

Is there any "play" at all with the catch? I have the same problem where my mags don't like to lock in. Finally noticed that the mag catch is able to "wiggle" up and down a little bit in its hole. If I put a mag in and slide my thumb off the back of the mag and over to the catch and nudge it downward, then it catches on the magazine and locks it in place. If my catch was a hair bigger, the hole a hair smaller, or if I could somehow build up some material at the top of the hole so that the catch wouldn't angle upward then it wouldn't be an issue.
