Proper way to replace recoil rod assembly in MP5 bolt group?

Can this be done without armorer's involvement?

Just pop it in there. Use a mallet if you need to.
Wiggle it back and forth, it will fit in there with pressure.

Clone or real HK?

Sometimes the clone builders use G3 recoil rod parts including the nylon washers which tend to be too large to easily slide into the MP5/94 bolt carrier. The simple solution is to lightly sand the OD of the nylon washer with a Dremel sanding drum until it just fits into the BC.

Yeah, but it doesn't take much force. Put a little lube on it, put the tip in the hole, and rotate the free end in a circular motion while pushing forward and it will slip right in.

(how's that for things that sound dirty but aren't)
