Hey all, new to the forum and HK weapon. So I ordered my PTR 91 from Atlantic Firearms and picked it up from my FFL dealer today. Took it home to do an initial cleaning to shoot it tomorrow to get the sights zereod in. In doing so I relized that the paddle mag release is not connected to anything and it just swivels back and forth with or without a mag in place. Fortunately the button release still works properly. I am going to call PTR to get this issue fixed, has anyone seen something like this before? Auto part

It's a pretty easy job. Punch out the roll pin on the push button release to get it apart. The contact piece would slide on the mag catch next to the spring. You can find some pics on Google images if you type in hk paddle mag release to see what it should look like.

Thanks, once I was told what the piece was I googled for more information. I am tempted to do the job myself, but I will wait on what either Atlantic Firearms or PTR says.

Looks like PTR assembled the rifle with the non-paddle, push-button release parts. Hopefully they might just offer to send the appropriate part for you to install and save the hassle of shipping the rifle back and forth.

Was the gun bought as CA compliant?

Got the parts in today and installed them. Mag release works perfectly, thanks PTR for the great service and fast response.
Glad to hear it worked out for you.
