I bought the PTR clone of the SP5k, and it runs great with ball ammo and boy is it a tack driver.
,
But it will not feed the Underwood Leighi Defense 68 grain ammo, the rounds nose dive almost every single round. Does any one have an idea of a possible cure?

I also have an ammo box of Hirtenburger ammo the really hot stuff, would these rounds tear the gun up. I can't remember if back in the day anyone was running it in MP5s.

Feeding(nose dive) issue is 99.9% most likely due to the nose of the projectile. That’s a funky set of cuts and the MP5 was not designed for that at all- same goes with issues with HP’s as the profile is not that of the 115/124/147 grain flavors (FMJRN). Also- are you using HK mags or those provided with the gun? Check the mag springs tilting forward as the follower should not allow for that. Get a few HK mags (our valued vendors here provide great bang for the buck - @Saab95v6 aka
HKPartspro.com)



The +P that you have may be hot but the weapon was designed for it the same. It will not tear the gun up but I wouldn’t burn through cases of it as it will add accelerated wear & tear to weapon.
