Can you remove the flash hider from a PTR-91 PDW? It seems that it's on there pretty tight and I don't want to go yanking without confirmation.

Thanks in advance guys.

Yes. They are tight but should screw off once it "breaks free" On old PTRs i had I popped a flat head screw driver in the flash hider and its fine. Since the PTR barrels and US flash hiders don't have retention ring and all they put them on very tightly
exactly what he said.....slip the flat head through the side ports and twist it off.
Roger that. Thanks guys.
I had a ****ens of a time removing my PTR heavy barrel FS so I could install a Vortex.. can only imagine struggling with the short version and no stock. I had to have my gal virtually sit on the stock in addition to my left hand, and I used a BIG wrench AND a cheater bar/tube

Maybe I shouldn't try to take it off...lol. I wanted to see if I could slip my SP89 handguard onto the pistol without the flash hider. I don't think it will, but was bored and thought I would try.

pretty sure that is a 94 style handguard not a 89 that fits it. you could put it on with a spacer or just use a wide forearm like from a 53 on it. don't put a vert grip on it unless it is nfa good. :)

Yeah, I was thinking I would try to see if the SP89 fit and then could add one of those extensions. Definitely not a K-grip.

I would not even think about it for that reason.. but if you like getting frustrated... lol

So your girl had to sit on the rifle AND your left hand?? I can see the fun in that but can't imagine how it helps remove the flash hider..LOL
