I have some pictures of two HK416 bolt carriers. With the one...I'm having trouble finding a firing pin retaining pin that will fit the carrier. The pin sticks out from the carrier once inserted all the way in. I have a picture of another carrier I have that has a larger area for the pin to insert entirely into. Does anyone know what kind of pin will fit this and where to get it? Thanks for any help,

From a few bolts I have it looks like an MR556 style firing pin retaining pin, part number 235239

You'll also need the small plunger and corresponding spring if you want it to truly remain "captive".

Thanks for all the great info - I appreciate it. I've been looking at Midwest and Hk Parts and think I might have found them, but can I still run the BCG without the plunger and spring?

you’ll want the plunger and spring, otherwise the captive style FPRP will be loose and work its way out, potentially damaging the pin and gouging the inside of your upper.
