It won't rotate if it's not fully seated. It might look like it is, but sometimes it's not. Try depressing the selector catch lever and pushing it home.

I've watched the how to youtube videos with no success and there is no mention in the manual...I'm having trouble re-installing the selector lever in a semi auto SP5K.
I have the selector in the 12 o'clock position and trying to rotate counter clockwise. From the 12 o'clock position I can't get it rotate either direction, even when depressing the lever to get it out.
