With the multitude of companies making lowers these days, I just wanted some input from the members as to what choice of lower would be a good one for the 416. Steel or aluminum? other choices? I also assume that you guys are using the standard m16/m4 trigger parts for use with your RDIAS - if so please let me know that as well and how it works with your 416.

thoughts, comments and pics would all be helpful.

I do not own a HK 416 upper but do own a RDIAS. I use a billet POF 416 lower wich has full auto markings and has a low shelf wich makes it RDIAS ready. I can not see any other lower that would be closer to a real HK 416 lower.

I use a Bushmaster M16 control parts and they work fine.

Anybody buying an HK416 Upper should not even blink at the price of a Magpul Lower after what they paid for the upper. Anyways, Magpul said it'd be lower than $500, maybe a high $200.

I would second the 416 price would justify that lower. Plus you would have the flared magazine well... looks like Magpul knew what to do, to make an irrisistable 416 lower

They are aluminum for sure. The smooth receivers pictured on the left are bead blasted and ready for anodizing.

there were a couple of people who posted pic's of lowers that looked to be close copies/clones of the 416 lowers. I can't recall who posted the pic's, but I recall they had them made....

POF makes a pictogram lower and even uses the Tango Down pistol grips.

Noone makes steel AR lowers. Did you mean something else in your first post?

I would stick it on Colt, LMT, or KAC personally

i bought 2 socom manufacturing lowers. they were consecutive #ed. they dont have the pic/gram but have the flared and most importantly for me they have a horizontal magwell. painted them up as close to an HK as i could. they are great lowers and are getting harder to find. my 2 cent!

DPMS seems to have excellent quality control. I have not had any problems with either the aluminum or (preferred) stainless lower ... very tight tolerances on mine!

Just "build" your own and engrave it as you wish.

For reasons I won't go into, this lower ended up being FUBAR because of engraving flaws on the pictos and HK logo. I won't make the same mistake again though.
