Reduce VP9 trigger pull weight

7935 Views 7 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  TBxd
I checked my VP9's trigger pull with a Lyman pull gauge, which shows a consistent 6.5 pounds. This is a bit heavier than the advertised 5.5 pounds. I know I can add the match trigger spring kit, but I'm not interested in that and would like to keep the pistol stock. Is there anything else I can do, or will the pull weight decrease with time?

If your comfortable breaking the gun down, you can remove the dis connector and polish out the two stage feeling type of hump. I did that when I installed the lobos trigger, which has a slightly different geometry in the trigger design. I use this gun for IDPA only and I didn't want too light a set up, mine comes in right around 5lbs or so, but the lyman digital is hard to get consistent pulls with IMO. I assume it will also lighten up further with usage or heavy dry fire practice but have not got to that point yet myself.

I've got about 1500 rounds through it, with many more dry fires. I would assume that it's well on its way to being broken it at this point.
There are some great HK armorers/smiths on this site you could PM if they don't respond to this thread.

As mentioned above, I imagine that a few of these guys could dial in your trigger weight pretty close to where you want it.

TheSigArmorer.com - Robert C. Burke - not sure if he offers a vp9 service package, he does work on HK hammer guns though.
