HK4C LEM w/safety? I didn't even know you could do that. And why would they?

Most folks who install the LEM on an HK45 or HK45c pistol use the parts that eliminate the safety lever from the pistol. It is a simple thing to use the safety lever instead of the LEM axle while installing the LEM kit and retain the safety. A few folks have opted to do that. It will have no decocker function--only safety. The biggest question for USN06 is whether the LEM axle came with the pistol when you bought it second-hand? If not, you'll need to purchase one from HK or from one of the several parts vendors.

Thanks for the info. No it didn't come with the gun so I will need to order it. Is it easy to change out?

 

Everything you need is in the Reference Library. Spend sometime scouring that forum and you'll be golden.

 

You don't need the safety for AIWB if you have your thumb on the hammer as you holster. You will feel the hammer move if there is a problem.

 

All kidding aside, I always put my thumb on the hammer when I holster too. It is one reason I prefer hammer-fired over striker-fired.

You do have to take out most of the guts to remove the selector switch. Watch the first 10 minutes of the first video here. And the 2nd video shows you how to put it all back together.
