I'm still new to the HK scene and am about to get the SL8-6. I would like to ask anyone's advice in here who does the best conversion to a G36 for a reasonable price.

Thanks,
Dave

I believe AviatorDave here on the forums does them as well... He just finished up my UMP conversion and will be sending him a SL8-6 and G36 parts kit for that conversion as well...

Also add a few hundred more for 922r parts, which applies whether or not it's an SBR.

+1 yes, what dwillHK said... Sorry, I had the 922r parts in another column on my spreadsheet as I accounted for selling those parts off after the SBR was approved... Thanks...

Um, hate to rain on the parade but being an sbr does not preclude from having to be 922r compliant.

Really??? I was under the impression that once the ATF approves the SBR, the 922r compliance is no longer required. Whoah... I'm gonna have to research and look into this a bit more now... :-\

Just found it... Thanks for the heads up... Guess it's back to buying additional parts now...

"However, the Bureau has previously determined that the lawful
making of an NFA weapon would not violate Section 922(r), since the
section only addresses the assembly of "nonsporting" firearms, and
not the making of NFA weapons. Therefore, the lawful making of a
short barreled rifle would not be precluded by Section 922(r)."

I used HDPS for all of my G36 fun.

I tried uploading a couple pics, but it had the '!' in red after them. Thoughts? Thanks,

You have to use a hosting site such as photobucket.

Can I ask you where you found that quote? Thanks,
