Hi Folks !! i have bought a SP89 , and found that has no front sling point .......bought a front sling eyebolt and found that it needs to be riveted in place after the front pin is removed .....

anybody has a clue on how to successfully rivet it in place without damaging the tower or barrel ? any tutorial ?

I use a drill bit through the loop so I do not deform it. Then a ball peen and a hand held rivet former. I tried using a lead block a couple times as my buckingblock to keep from beating up the eye ring but last time just used a steel block to buck it and cleaned up the flat spot on the ring afterwards. I have a round ball mill I chucked up in my dril press and made the rivet setter from a steel rod. Then ground the outer diameter down to fit in the recess for doming the rivet.
