I am considering the b&t 12x28 barrel. Would this be the correct option. ?

Would this barrel stick out past the handguard to add a flash hider??

Would HK armorers do the work? Or send to a good gunsmith?

Spoke with an HK armorer. Said only reason is for a suppressor, he said the factory barrel already in it is the best you will get, and to keep it.

So I will. Going to get a brace stock for it, but not install til I use it, as it won't fit in the case it came in.

Still unfired, as is my mk23. Some day.........

There is one other very good reason for a threaded barrel. Being able to shoot the gun with a stock while waiting for SBR Form 1 paperwork to clear. Pin/weld on a barrel extension to the threaded barrel, slap on a stock of your choice, and you are in business.
