I literally just picked up my SP5K, put some snap caps in the magazine, charged the handle and moved selector to fire....pulled trigger- nothing. Trigger moves to rear slightly and stops- no hammer fall. On safe, the trigger doesn't move at all and it shouldn't. Am I missing something?

The bolt locks back, the snap caps eject and chamber but no hammer fall on fire??? Thought I'd check here with experts before I call Customer service tomorrow.... thanks

what appears to be happening is that when the bolt goes forward the hammer is not cocked. When I remove the back plate and look in the hammer is all way forward like it already fired and that is how the trigger feels.... it's like its missing the piece that pushes the hammer back and engages it under tension... I'm not sure what a video would show and at this point I am mad enough that a gun I paid lots of money for is defective.... I will post the HK response.

Sounds to me as if the safety is still on, provided that you installed the lower properly. Unusual.

When lower is off NOTHING moves trigger barely moves.. safety engages and trigger doesn't move at all. This happened out of box... before I re-installed. After removing back plate and looking in the hammer is all way forward.. it doesn't move and the trigger isn't functioning. My best move since it is still in wrapper is let HK deal with it tomorrow. Thanks for all comments.

I know your pain it has happened to me recently!! CS will fix it, but these guys on here are trying to help you it is just hard without pics or video to convey what you see. Don't be mad at these guys, there are guys on here with more knowledge then HK CS most likely off the very top of my head Chopstix Kid and Marine0303.. Sorry if I missed anyone on par with them I don't do much DBBRLs. Just to give you my last CS experience (Not HK, SIG) had my MCX for 6 months IIRC so there is that issue of it being a hot seller and could be fixed easily by you or by someone on here in a day rather then months.. JUST FYI no disrespect ment!!

If I gave you the impression I was mad at anyone here I humbly apologize!!!! The reason a video is hard for me is I'm not in a position to do one and when I will be I might as well send to HK tomorrow... But I will do a video tomorrow. I guess I was hoping I was missing a simple fix unique to this gun which I am not familiar with. Again-- NO disrespect to anyone intended!!!! Thank you all for trying and your responses.. they are what make folks read this forum.

Ok I did not realize you had take lower off and tried, without seeing pics or video hard to diagnose because the hammer should move freely back into a locked position.........good luck hopefully its something simple and you get it figured out....I am guessing you are not comfortable disassembling the lower yourself?

caf82313 I would not be comfortable doing that... outside my skill set I'm afraid and I wouldn't want to compromise a warranty. I live in GA and HK is in GA? So maybe won't take long.. I will take some picts of the trigger assembly etc and post tomorrow. thanks

No snap caps, and I haven't hit the range yet.
But my SP5K dry fires perfectly.
I'm 100% confident it will be flawless when I load it up and open fire
Seems like something may be amiss?
And not trying to be mean...
But actually attempting to shoot the gun would be my first recommendation.

I work as a contractor instructor at GA Gun Club Buford, GA and i was there when it arrived, was unboxed and I filled out forms... I tried the the gun when I got home after 8hrs of teaching BP, I am 68, open heart surgery survivor and I was beat. Anyway- this am I am making a video and then calling HK CS and we will see. Thanks

I talked with HK- trigger pack is defective and I'm sending in as soon as they email me the label. Here is the link to the video which I will keep up for a few days. There is no sound- sorry. Imagine a slew of big trucks and machines outside your house paving and you will realize why but you will get the idea. Thanks to all for the comments.

Thanks for loading video, you had said earlier hammer doesn't move? Clearly it moves I could not tell though if you were depressing the trigger at the same time as you were pushing the hammer back? One thing I noticed for future reference is to use the HK slap and not riding the bolt down.......

What we need to know to help you is:

With the lower off the gun, if you manually cock the hammer without touching the trigger or safety, does it cock back and remain that way?

then:

If it does, and you put the selector on 'fire,' does the hammer drop?

ETA - Watching you reassemble it with the hammer forward increases my suspicions that there's a problem in the trigger group here.

Dumb question for the home viewing audience. Will a standard 94 SEF Pack fit into this gun? If so I don't live far from DrGrey's place of work and can loan him a lower to see if it works to at least try to isolate the issue.

Opps.. nevermind.. I see that he is sending the pack back
