I don't have any experience with the wood stocks. I can tell you the mg club foots are a bit heavier and adding a heavier buffer adds a bit of weight but at the end of the day its still a point heavy rifle. If you really want to balance it out you might be best served trying to fill the empty space in your stock with a pouch full of lead shot or something.

I was thinking the same thing, you could adjust the amount of shot to balance the rifle to your liking.

Doc, the original G3 wood stocks are not solid and probably wouldn't add any noticeable weight...if any.

The problem with adding weight to the stock is that you will be turning a rifle that already weighs 9 pounds into a 10 or 11 pound one.

I took all the plastic off my PTR91 and put on wood. I did not notice a change in weight or distribution.

I shoot an AR with a 20" heavy barrel a lot in Highpower matches. For awhile I put more and more Lead in the butt and under the hand guard. It got over 15 pounds. Recently, sanity returned and I pulled it all out. Vast improvement. I shoot it as well as I ever did.

stocks only, no buffer or back plate my plastic stock is 12.5oz and my wood one is 10oz. You could add a few oz by getting a heavy/pcs buffer and maybe an extended rubber buttpad. I'm pretty sure the AR stock and clubfoot are heavier, but I don't know by how much.

A friend of mine shot with the Marine Corps Rifle Team for a couple years and his competition M16 was something like 26 pounds with all the lead in it. Basically had zero recoil firing the puny 5.56 round even in rapid fire.
