Anyone else have first hand experience?
My HK45 has actually started to chew itself up a little from mostly non suppressor use. Because of that I bought my USPT to be my dedicated Suppressor host. I am pretty sure that excessive use of the can would just cause more issues. But even after my communications with HK, I think that after some time, they seemed to elude to the fact that if this happens, they might be able to help cut a break on replacement parts. but honestly if that means a new slide barrel then the serial numbers will not match.
My advice is, go for it. keep your eye on three spots as you progress through a few thousand rounds, and keep the areas lubed to help. the inside of the slide at the top where the ejection port meets the barrel hood. Of course the corresponding portion of the barrel hood that contacts the same place of the slide. and the entire area around the firing pin channel, and extractor, basically that entire wall where the rim of the case contacts the slide(wipe away alllllll lube after it has set into the metal in this area, do not let any go into your firing pin channel, you can leave lube or grease on the barrel hood and slide all day long if you wish, i do.). If over a few thousand rounds you notice some obviously odd wear, well then you will have to make a determination on it from there.
just remember, Suppressors are hard on guns, you are gonna see accelerated wear. No gun firing thousands of suppressed rounds is gonna make it out like a range toy thats brought out a few times a month. Besides it builds character.
